University Culture Student Engagement & Outreach Mentors
University Culture Outreach & Engagement Mentors (UCMs) serve as ambassadors at CSUCI and in the community to promote educational equity through active outreach. UCMs engage students across the university in peer mentoring focused on the social and academic transition to college. UCMs refer students to vital support services and increase students’ engagement in campus-wide co-curricular programming. In the community, UCMs work to infuse a university going culture within Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. UCMs motivate, mentor and inform students about college pathways, raise awareness of the benefits of higher education, and provide college readiness support to students who are seeking a baccalaureate degree.
